With venues ranging from the 3,000 seat SEC Armadillo to the 14,300 capacity OVO Hydro, supported by the versatile spaces of the SEC Centre, our facilities are ideally equipped to host sporting events of all sizes.

Over the years, our audience have enjoyed sports events such as Giants Live, Arenacross, Premier League Darts, Boxing, WWE, Harlem Globetrotters, and the charity tennis event ‘Andy Murray Live’.

The 23rd Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow in the summer of 2026, 12 years after the hugely successful 2014 games, when the SEC had its ultimate test as a key host venue for one of the world’s biggest multi-sport events.

During the 2014 games we hosted weightlifting in the SEC Armadillo, boxing, judo, wrestling and netball in the SEC Centre, and artistic and rhythmic gymnastics in the OVO Hydro. We are proud to have played such a prominent role in what the organisers hailed as ‘the best Games ever’. The SEC will once again prove our versatility in staging sporting events, with all three venues taking centre stage for a range of sports across the 2026 programme.

Our venue also played host to the 2015 FIG World Gymnastics Championships, and the Artistic Gymnastics as part of the European Sports Championships.

In early 2019, the venue hosted the televised six aside football event, Star Sixes, which was a huge success and reached over 1.6million across the Sky TV network. In 2024, the OVO Hydro hosted Scotland’s first ever WWE Premium Live Event, Clash at the Castle, which set an all-time WWE arena gate record.

With a strong track record of contributing to the success of world-class sporting events through our continued leadership, and an audience that thrives on competition, we are the ideal venue of choice for your next sports event.
